Perkeez is a platform designed to solve a very specific problem – sending gifts to business partners or colleagues, regardless of their whereabouts. Primarily intended for the iGaming industry, Perkeez is slowly finding its use in other areas of business. We were hired in order to take over project management, to improve the website and to offer advice on further development of the entire business.
We are employed for this project to develop and improve a platform for sending gifts across the world in the iGaming industry. Our job, aside from managing the development team, includes a much wider range of activities such as: planning and implementing a business strategy, seeking out and connecting with potential associates (online stores), communication and customer support for end users (that can be either companies or individuals), social media management and other marketing activities.
At the time of the take-over, the web application was completed, but ridden with bugs and flaws, and the project was in its beta testing phase. We assembled a team consisting of designers, developers and product managers, and got to work. A big challenge for us appeared to be the process of taking over and familiarizing ourselves with the project, filling out omissions and improving the whole platform. The fruit of our labor after 6 months, is a completely functional platform, with over 300 satisfied customers.
To pitch this as a recognizable global solution for gift sending in the iGaming industry. Given the exceptionality and the applicability of the existing model, in addition to the original one, to expand business on other markets and industries as well. Additionally, the goal is also to add a new set of features that would offer a new dimension and make Perkeez a comprehensive CRM tool “tailored” for the needs of particular industries.
The first step was to get acquainted with the platform from the product angle, with all its functions and possibilities. Then, a development team was formed that did an analysis of the existing code and detected bugs and flaws.
Based on the conclusions drawn from the analysis, we had a clearer image of the current situation, as well as several ideas on how this innovative concept could be adapted and improved. A backlog was formed, with tasks that could be divided into two main groups: a) those regarding fixing flaws and bugs; b) those regarding the adding of new features.
The next step was the process of development itself. We opted for an agile approach to work, and based on prioritization, the job was divided into several phases. Simultaneously, we worked on fixing bugs and adding new features. Given that Perkeez belongs to e-commerce platforms, one of the most important issues we solved in the first phase is implementation and automation of the credit card payment process. We achieved that by successfully integrating the Banka Inteza Nestpay solution.
At the same time as development, our product team work on other aspects of business as well. Finding new business partners and upkeeping good relations with the current partners is also part of our job description on this project. The Perkeez model was designed so that the main business collaborators are online stores across the globe. At the time of taking over the project, Perkeez was available in only 5 countries, but after 6 months that number has climbed up to 25.
Depending on the point of view, the end users of the Perkeez platform can be individuals or companies. The initial idea was to make gift sending to business partners in the iGaming industry easier. By expanding in other industries, as well as creating new “user personas”, where we offer the same services not only to business collaborators, rather also to colleagues and employees withing the same company, we have also significantly increased the range of business.
