With NeWay, we took on the challenge of solving the problem of package delivery in a completely new and innovative way, through the turnkey basis – starting from the idea, then gradually securing funding conditions, assembling a team and leading the project.
We are committed to helping with financing and project management. We have been a part of this startup from the very beginning, from the initial idea through research to validate the business model, the founding of the company, to creating both financial and business plans, as well as the development of MVP.
Starting the project from scratch, just from the idea, where one must also secure financial conditions, is one of the biggest challenges of any startup. In addition, in our specific case, we identified challenges such as introducing the product on the market and providing a sufficient number of early adopters who would use the platform and spread the word “from mouth to mouth” as to how innovative and valuable its use is.
We defined the creation of interactive prototype design as well as the creation of a minimum valuable product (MVP) as the primary short-term goals so that the idea could reach the end-users in the shortest amount of time possible. Significant financial resources are needed in order to create a complete and fully functional solution in the forms of web and mobile applications, so it’s necessary to work on securing investments in the meantime.
The founding team of NeWay is made out of product/project managers who have years of experience in the art of digital product development. Over time, the team grew to the point of now including a UX/UI designer, an SEO specialist, as well as a senior programmer who is the currently appointed tech lead.
One of the first steps after forming the team was validating the idea itself. We conducted an online survey with over 300 participants. The results showed that people are generally dissatisfied with courier services and ready to accept better and more innovative solutions.
As a great experience and incentive for the future, we would like to single out the Jumpstarter competition, where our project claimed second place in the “Urban Mobility” category.
In parallel with the aforementioned competition, we worked on a more detailed elaboration of the idea, and in result we ended up with a comprehensive business plan.
Another document that has been prepared, that is necessary in the process of planning our resources, as well as looking for potential investors, is the financial plan.
MVP will contain a basic set of features necessary for the entirety of the system to function and meet the users’ needs. So far, as a team, we already have numerous ideas for additional upgrades and the inclusion of new features.
In cooperation with the UX/UI designer who subsequently joined the team, we are working on creating the basic screens of the application, with primary focus on the basic features that have been planned for MVP.
The basic features that we defined for MVP can be best expressed through 3 basic types of platform users, namely the sender, the driver and the recipient
The send package option – it applies to anyone who needs to send any type of package, both individuals or companies
The deliver package option – it also includes a very wide range of users as, basically, anyone can be a delivery person, given that the package needs to be taken to the direction the person’s headed towards
The receive package option - the recipient receives a link with the option to track the package in real time, as well as information about the approximate time of arrival of the driver
